Speaker: William G. Dickerson, DDS, FAACD, LVIM
Like so many dentists, Dr. Dickerson was busy creating a practice based on the skills and knowledge he obtained in dental school, however he was increasingly frustrated and disenchanted by the traditional approach to dental care. Developing a “Patient Centered Practice” gave him his passion driven purpose. Propelled by this new excitement for dentistry, Bill started sharing his passion with other dentists and quickly became recognized as a respected opinion leader and highly sought after speaker as well as one of the most influential people in dentistry. He was instrumental as a pioneer in the aesthetic revolution as well as igniting the profession’s interest in the physiologically based neuromuscular dentistry. His focus for the past two decades has been to create a better future for the profession.
In 1993, Dr. Dickerson was asked by Baylor College of Dentistry to develop the first live patient treatment program in the country. Since 1994, Bill’s efforts have been channeled into creating the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI Global), providing an educational forum for advancing our profession. The construction of the existing campus was opened in 1998 and was expanded to 63,000 square feet of buildings on 4.5 acres of land in 2003 in the beautiful Summerlin area of Las Vegas to create an environment that enhances the learning experience of the attendees. For the past 20 years, LVI has led the way in continuing education
becoming the world’s premier post graduate educational center in dentistry.
Over nine thousand dentists from all over the world have attended LVI and over 10,000 of their patients have been treated there, as well as the thousands of others who have enhanced their practices by attending lectures of Bill’s or reading his books to help dentists achieve their dreams: “The Exceptional Dental Practice”, the sequel, “In Search of the Ultimate Practice”, “How To Create an Exceptional Aesthetic Practice: Ten Dentists That Have Done It” and “Unleashing the Power of Dentistry.” Dr. Dickerson has also published over 500 articles and lectured in every state and most western countries.
From Aesthetic dentistry to scientifically based occlusal approaches, Bill has encouraged, assisted and propelled dentists from over 43 nations to grow and excel and has led the way developing many aesthetic and occlusal techniques, products and procedures that enhance comprehensive restorative procedures.
