“AN ALMOST LIFE”
DR. SETH SALIMA
Seth T. Salima is a man of continued excellence. As a member of the Doctor’s Exchange of Arizona, P.C. he has been practicing optometry for over 12 years. A recipient of the Doctors of Excellence Award in 2024 he continues to serve his community with dedication and diligence. Seth has also earned a title as a Collegiate All-American at Arizona State University. His Olympic pursuits eventually led him to the stages of the Cirque Du Soleil and was voted one of the Fittest Men of Florida. He strives to maintain a balance between mind, body, and spirit. The mantra for his life is that “Fun and Mental are Fundamental.”
SYNOPSIS:
The ultimate goal is to uplift, inspire, and motivate each of us to be the best versions of ourselves. As technology advances and as we embrace the changes of the future, more specifically artificial intelligence (AI), we have the opportunity to expand our horizons in a number of ways. Unfortunately, changes whether good or bad can often be difficult to navigate or to manage. The influences of our past experiences or the trepidation of the potential unknown may keep us from adventuring into uncharted yet vital areas of growth and development. This lecture aims to address such concerns in a focused and widely relevant way to help us to simply be better. It is a schematic created and designed to navigate through the following areas.
•ATTITUDE
oOur mental approach to any of life’s possibilities will largely determine the prospective outcome. Is our mindset or perspective keeping us stagnant in our efforts? Are we helping or hindering our growth based on our attitudes?
•LATITUDE
oThe movement of our lives both up and down is measured in minutes. How we spend our time will largely influence the direction we will inevitably flow. This progression or regression includes all aspects of our lives; physical, social, intellectual, and emotional.
•MOMENTUM
oWhat kind of force will it take to move us toward the success we seek? Will our course be altered if we are acted upon by an unbalanced force?
•OPPORTUNITY
o We cannot be afraid or uncomfortable when seizing opportunities to grow, learn, and build. There’s a recipe for creating a golden opportunity.
•SELF-WORTH
oOur self-worth is not predicated on others. It is imperative that we know and understand this very basic concept.
•TRIALS TO TRIUMPH
oFearing failure may keep us from trying. However, not trying turns the trial into a tragedy. Be brave and be believing.
If we take into consideration these qualities Attitude, Latitude, Momentum, Opportunity, Self-Worth, and turning Trials to Triumphs we need not live an “A.L.M.O.S.T.” life.
THE EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES OF THIS PRESENTATION ARE FOR THE PARTICIPANT TO BE ABLE TO:
1.Understand what may be keeping us from realizing our goals.
2.Become aware of the foley of our current perspective.
3.Appreciate and recognize our abilities and what we truly have to offer.

FROM DENTAL FLAT-LAND TO VIRTUAL 4D DENTISTRY….. START YOUR ROMANCE IN DIMENSIONS
MARK DUNCAN, DDS, LVIF, FIAPA
SPONSORED BY: THE AURUM GROUP
A 1995 graduate of University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, Mark Duncan has spent his career not only treating patients, but also teaching dentists from around the world advanced aesthetic and functional dentistry. Fortunate to enter the profession at a time of change, he has participated in the advancement of techniques that dramatically impact the quality of life for his patients and has shared those with other dentists around the world. The journey to delivering aesthetic implant solutions led him to the Las Vegas Institute and ICCMO. These organizations helped him to treat the whole patient including supporting tissues and airway.
Knowing a beautiful smile is much more than simply the centerpiece of a pretty picture, he has shared a wide variety of concepts from managing biofilm to full rehabilitation and implant reconstruction.
Dr. Duncan has served dentistry through writing and editing various dental publications, as a key opinion leader and consultant for several manufacturers and cutting-edge labs and lecturing to dentists around the world on a variety of topics. Always an advocate for comprehensive and complete care, currently he is most excited about how the culmination of technology has allowed dentistry to finally become a profession that manages the art, science, and function in a dynamic rather than static or analog way. This has led to improved outcomes and greater satisfaction for patients and the entire team!
SYNOPSIS:
As technology continues to evolve, so do we. Among the many things that impacted my journey was hearing Dr. Bill Dickerson say that we should fully expect to be a better dentist in 5 years than we are right now. Quite simply, the tools that made us dentists aren’t adequate to provide optimal care anymore. We have finally entered the realm of virtual dynamic dentistry, and the faster we incorporate 4D dental care into our practices, the better the outcomes we can deliver to our patients.
Together, we will explore how to bring 4D dynamic functional dental solutions to your practice and patients and deliver a level of care that we have always aspired to, but never measured up to. Form, fit, and function simply aren’t enough. Today, we must also deliver aesthetics while we support their airway. The challenge has always been that we work with static solutions in a dynamic system. Those days are over! Together we will explore how new technology allows us to accomplish fit, form, function, aesthetics, and support of an airway in a dynamic system.
THE EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES FOR THIS PRESENTATION ARE FOR THE PARTICIPANT TO BE ABLE TO:
1.Discover the evolution of ‘occlusion’ and why it doesn’t matter
2.Explore 4D Treatment – integrating video into treatment planning and case setup
3.Walk through 4D bite-change full rehabilitation case setup protocol
4.Eliminate more than 75% of post-delivery adjustments before the restorations are made

SYNOPSIS
In our profession confusion is the rule rather than the exception not only in occlusion but also in protrusion:
We have no consensus on how to find a starting point for the mandible in oral appliance therapy (OAT) in Treating Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA).
Many expert opinions, arbitrary protrusions, often excessive advancements of the mandibles leave the dental sleep medicine in confusion and the oral appliance therapy success plateaued or even failed with many undesirable side effects.
One thing we should keep in mind that when we as mouth doctors trying to treat patients whether is for Orthodontics, prosthodontic rehabilitations, TMD or OSA/OAT, we MUST Respect ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY…
Is traditional dentistry respecting Anatomy and Physiology in any of these mentioned treatments? is our profession using any objective Data’s during the oral appliance therapy to confirm that it’s respecting anatomy and physiology of the stomatognathic system?
Physiologic approach treating OSA is Objective .
It respects principals of physiology set by giants.
Can we take this approach to the NEXT LEVEL through more objective Data’s about anatomy and physiology of the upper airway?
THE EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES FOR THIS PRESENTATION ARE FOR THE PARTICIPANT TO BE ABLE TO:
1) Discuss the importance of physiologic principles to treat OSA
2) Understand the power & the science behind the physiologic approach.
3) Understand the power & the science behind elevating the level of physiologic approach.

SYNOPSIS:
Digital capabilities within dentistry for records acquisition, prosthetic design, and prosthesis manufacturing, surgical planning, etc., have evolved at a blistering pace over the last two decades. The natural evolution of the digitally driven manufacturing processes has taken us through milling (subtractive manufacturing) to now focus on additive manufacturing through 3D printing.
3D Printing allows for significantly lower cost of entry as systems are roughly a tenth of the cost of a robust CAD/CAM milling system. Additionally, the accuracy of digital acquisition through IO scanners and the evolution of robust design software yields greater overall precision in complex, multi-step lab protocols and the ability to more efficiently verify accuracy at each step.
A majority of 3D printed resins on the market are nano-ceramic resin hybrids which have very similar characteristics as the ones we use every day in dentistry. Wear rates, shear strength, fracture toughness, and the ability to bond to other resins are in line with what we expect.
In this presentation we will briefly discuss 3D printing and the restorative materials available right now. We will review the process of bite acquisition, design, manufacturing, cementation, and management of a digitally designed, 3D printed fixed orthotic in Phase I treatment of a physiologic case. We will also discuss bite transfer to the lab and verification of measurements in preparation for Phase II reconstruction.
THE EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES FOR THIS PRESENTATION ARE FOR THE PARTICIPANT TO BE ABLE TO:
- Understand the scope of digital capabilities in the modern dental office.
- Understand the similarities and differences between digital and analog phase I records acquisition.
- Review the design process, manufacturing, and cementation of at 3d Printed Fixed Orthotic.
- Understand the material properties and bonding protocols for 3D printed nano-ceramic hybrid resins.
